More than 100 AstraZeneca managers attended this four-day event. After a three-month consultation period with AstraZeneca’s directors and their Learning and Development team, we were able to truly ‘get under the skin’ of the aims and objectives of the brief. It was paramount that:
- delegates left the event understanding the rationale for the unavoidable changes;
- we created a forum in which they felt able to ask candid questions of the directors; and
- delegates left the event feeling positive and energised about the future of AstraZeneca and their place within it.
The overall objective was to achieve a huge mindset and cultural change over the course of the four days. We designed the event around the key messages, which included empowerment, responsibility and accountability. Developing on these themes, our programme included Train the Trainer workshops which gave the client the skills to ‘own’ the workshops and deliver them unaided to a wider audience.
